Today we're gonna be taking a look at the affordable, yet powerful LG 25UM58-P Ultrawide, IPS, 25 inc, HD monitor. This ultrawide monitor has everything you'd expect out of a capable 21:9 monitor for just over 150 dollars. This widescreen monitor sports a full HD resolution of 2560x1080, a 60hz refresh rate, sRGB color accuracy over 99%, and a "Game Mode" for an optimal gaming experience.

While this monitor comes shipped with a 60hz refresh rate, you can actually easily overclock it to a 75hz refresh rate. This overclockability combined with optimized game mode setting and a black level stabilizer (you can see better in dark areas) give you a competitive advantage on the cheap.

The only real compromise with this ultrawide monitor is size, 25 inches. A lot of people will say 25 inches is much too small for an ultrawide, 21:9 monitor, but some would disagree. Take this review from Amazon for example:

Before purchasing this i've read that 21:9 isn't "worth" it for screens smaller than 29 inches. I would have to disagree, this screen is excellent for productivity. I am able to have multiple text editors open at once, and they each feel like they are on their own display.

Now if you won't budge on this point, and most definitely want a larger ultrawide monitor, I recommend the LG 29UM58-P 29-inch UltraWide. It's basically the same as this one, but if you're willing to pay around $80 extra, then you get 4 more glorious inches. Follow the link below to be taken to its amazon page.

If you're still here and still have interest in this budget ultrawide monitor, then I recommend you continue reading as we're going to cover some common questions about this monitor.

Common Questions & Answers About This Budget Ultrawide Monitor

Can I mount this ultrawide monitor on a mounting bracket, like a VESA mount?

Yes, this ultrawide monitor is compatible with VESA mounts, and it comes highly recommended. It's a great way to make your monitor look like it cost a couple hundreds bucks more, and besides the added aesthetics, it's very practical.

How many hz is the ultrawide monitor? What's the refresh rate? 144hz or 60hz?

As mentioned previous, this monitor ships as a 60hz monitor, but it is very easily overclocked to 75hz. The benefit of overclocking this to a 75hz monitor is mainly found in gaming. This small tweak provides smoother gameplay making this a great budget gaming monitor.

Can you tilt the ultrawide monitor?

Absolutely, this screen tilts back about 20 to 25 degrees relative to its standard, upright position. If you'd like more flexibility, we recommend getting a VESA mount. As mentioned in the first question, this monitor is very much compatible with such a mounting solution.

Can I hook my XBOX up to the ultrawide monitor?

This ultrawide monitor includes a standard HDMI port, so yes.

Does it have built in speakers?

Unfortunately, no, but seeing as this ultrawide monitor is just over 150 dollars, is full HD, can be overclocked to 75hz, and looks great, it's not the end of the world.

Still need convincing?

I'd like to point out some Amazon reviews we found that really stood out in communicating the benefits of this awesome, bang-for-your-buck, cheap ultrawide monitor.

Epic monitor. Once you start using an ultra widescreen, standard widescreen seems archaic. The LG monitor delivers rich colors and super blacks. It's extremely well made, it comes with desk/wall mount capability, the stand has a cover to organize/hide your cables. It can be used for gaming, primarily I use it for work and watching movies at my desk (I know...shhh). It's indispensable for spreadsheets, charting, large flows, design etc.. I would say for anyone looking to do graphic design

There you have it, for a budget, cheap, affordable ultrawide monitor, this is an incredible deal. It's phenomenal for watching movies, it's very competitive as a gaming monitor, and it's great for productivity. Spreadsheets, programming, graphic design, video editing, you'll see the boost in efficiency in every aspect of your work.
